RAINY NIGHT OVERLOOKING HOLLYWOOD

Black as

Any satin, tormented

Hours around

Midnight’s hush

Jazz the spangled

Scattered squares in

Sparkling drifts,

Amber cat’s eyes

That cry

Into the city’s heart — Mondrian

Puzzle patterns grid

Turns this

Misty night dressed

In quicksilver twists

Into imagined

Skies of stars

Transforming

A million tiny rooms

And their silent

Tragic stories

Into haunted

Symphonic vistas

Whispering

Secret things unheard

From the hillside

Steep heights

Of dreamy

Green Dolphin Street.
